What information do I need to provide to get a quote?
Just the basics: which service you need, the language pair (if relevant), an approximate file length or word count, and your deadline. We'll take it from there.
Do I need to sign a contract before starting?
No — most relationships start with a single project, confirmed by email, so you can see the work directly before committing to anything ongoing.
Can I start with a small trial project?
Yes — there's no minimum size, so a short recording or a small document is a perfectly reasonable way to see how we work before sending a larger project.
How do I send you my files?
A link to your file (Google Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, or similar) works well — just include it in the message field when you get in touch.
What services does Global Riss provide?
We provide audio & video transcription, translation, captioning, subtitling, meeting minutes, and localization — combining AI-assisted tools with human review for accuracy.
How does human review work alongside AI-assisted tools?
AI-assisted tools handle the first pass of a project quickly. A human reviewer then checks every file for accuracy, context, and quality before it's delivered — accuracy is never left to automation alone.
Do you work with businesses outside my industry?
Yes — we work across legal, media, corporate, education, healthcare, and public sector projects. If you're unsure whether your project is a fit, just get in touch.
Can you handle very small or one-off projects?
Yes — there's no minimum project size. A single short recording gets the same review process as a larger volume of work.
Can you handle recurring or ongoing work, not just one-off projects?
Yes — many clients send projects on an ongoing basis. The same team stays familiar with your preferences across each new project.
How do you determine pricing?
Pricing depends on turnaround time, language pair or complexity, and volume. Every project is quoted individually — get an exact quote by telling us about your project.
How quickly can you turn around a project?
Turnaround depends on the service, file length, and complexity. Standard and rush options are typically available — we'll confirm an exact timeline for your specific project.
Can I request revisions after delivery?
Yes. If something needs adjusting after delivery, let us know and we'll work with you to resolve it.
Do you charge extra for rush requests?
Rush turnaround is typically priced higher than standard, since it moves ahead of the regular queue. We'll always confirm this as part of your quote, with no surprise charges after the fact.
How do you handle confidential or sensitive files?
Client files are handled confidentially, with NDAs available on request. See our Quality, Security & Confidentiality section on the About page for more detail.
Is my content reviewed by a machine only, or by a person too?
Always by a person. AI-assisted tools speed up the first pass, but every project is checked by a human reviewer before delivery.
Will you sign an NDA before reviewing our content?
Yes — non-disclosure agreements are available on request, and we're happy to sign yours or provide our own before any sensitive material is shared.
Do you follow a recognized standard for translation quality?
Our process follows the same core principle behind frameworks like ISO 17100 and ISO 18587: translated content is reviewed by a person other than whoever produced the first draft, not self-checked.
What reading speed do you target for subtitles?
We aim for the range most broadcasters and streaming platforms treat as comfortable — commonly around 17 characters per second, with a two-line limit — rather than however fast a raw translation happens to run.
Do your captions meet accessibility guidelines?
Captions are written with WCAG guidance in mind, including covering speaker identification and meaningful sound effects, not just dialogue.
Do you follow a specific format for board or governance minutes?
For formal governance settings, structure can follow conventions like those in Robert's Rules of Order, with motions, seconds, and votes recorded distinctly from general discussion.
